an original poem by Joshua Brown

When I choose

Intentionality

Over drab survival

Insights into

Self, observed

By countless hours

Quiet

Against the Noise

A reality check,

Then begin the stars

To dance

Happily chosen

Over the serpentine

Volcanic ruins

Of melted programs

A schedule of hell

Churning heat

Back towards

The Firmament

This Sky

Where men breathe

Wields against form

Ununiformity

Jagged fingers

Choking Hell

Back.

While here I stand

Sunrise

Sunset

A rush of fresh air,

Beautiful song of

Hell's Broken Dream.

Thanks for reading "On Purpose" which was written while I was riding public transportation to the gym for my morning workout, on RTD 153 in Aurora, Colorado, United States, North America, which goes along the Toll Gate Creek. Also check out my last poem, which is much more specific, it's actually a reflection on the Christchurch shooter, Brenton Tarrant, who committed an act of deadly violence against a mosque in New Zealand.

Thanks for reading. ❤️
