Joshua Brown
Will you ever get real angry?
Will you rage against your hell?
Will the settled dust of failure
Be astirred by golem's bell?
Will the silent curse of hatred
Spewed by those who should have helped
Be broken by your willure
To engage your truest self
In quiet deep embrasure
Of the anger you withheld
To protect yourself from violence
As a child wrapped in pelts
The skins of other mammals
In their death protect from harm
But your childlike ambition
Now cut off your own arm
Handless and by magic
In the cold and bitter storm
You slowly start to wander
From the solace of the warmth
Betray. Betray. Betray yourself
To keep yourself from death
But further now the lying
Brings your hands around your neck
Let go and rage on further
To protect yourself from he
Who abandoned you neglected
In the rough and cruel seas
And crashing waves embitter
For the will you seek to dive
Further, farther, deeper
Into truth and love and life
You now in rage accomplish
All the things that you require
By the steps you take in ardor
Of the love of Sodom's fire
Burning flesh to purify
The soul from daemons will

There are a large group of petty men who live out their childhood simulacra until their final petty death. What kind of life will you live, will you continue on in the world fashioned by others, their words embraced, their ideas embodied in your own actions to appease and eke out a small survival? Or will you dare to feel your own feelings, living out your own life, thinking your own thoughts and, reaching back to others, build a beautiful and powerful life, family and community?
