an original poem by Joshua Brown

Hail to the inspirational kings and gods

Of people given to aintelligent survival

Their drives, holy, yet base, yielded to

Dances, primordial, primoral enticing

To preserve the flame of hope and chance

Imagination baked into social norms

Thrust into the oven, raised by corruption

The yeast of sin enlightening their eyes

And my serpent, not yet estranged from

The Will of God, a universal, Monarch

Known neither by tribes, nor time itself

Was trod upon by the Impossible Child

A seed spilled upon the earth reveled

To see my serpents head crushed ugly

And the people painted their faces red

And magic cast by the engineers electric

For each tribe protected Child by refusal

To allow coalition into irrational violence

The betrayal of trust by invisible inhibition

The sleight of hand by Jezebel's witness

Craft on, oh mammalian urge, in concert

With freedom, freedom, freedom! Hail!

Bring forth beautiful children unto men

The tyrants fear. And stir women wise.

May thus this cacophony of colors bright

Gift to time another seed, but this: enemy

Of evils presumed common amongst us

Or serpents unknown to time's imagination.

Thanks for reading "Into the Colors" which was written on Sunday, March 12, 2023 in reflection of a holiday I was told was called Holi which I saw some people celebrating in Centennial, Colorado, United States, North America. Keep reading by checking out my last published poem "Back to a Prediluvian State" which is an exploration of both my understanding and imagination of what the world was like before Noah's Flood, laid out in the Bible and expounded upon by preachers like Kent Hovind.
