I Cannot Understand
How one so small as I,
Could be so wonderful to Him
Who came to earth to die.
I cannot understand
Why He did love me so;
He bled, and died, and rose again,
His wondrous grace to show.
I cannot understand
The mercy shown to me
When all my sins He washed away,
By dying on the tree.
I cannot understand
The power that He holds.
From Him comes breath, and life, and death;
It is my life He molds.
I cannot understand
That someday I shall be
In Heaven walking streets of gold
With Jesus, eternally.
